The America which works hard, saves, and then spends has not been seen in a long time, unfortunately. The excessive availability of both credit cards and low interest loans has made it so that virtually anyone has access to large amounts of credit which they are virtually incapable of paying off. Spending money first requires making and then saving money—at least that is how it should be. Unfortunately, the American economy is now swimming in debt. People have been encouraged and incentivized to take out large loans or spend on their credit cards when they should be saving up and paying for things in cash as much as possible. The recession has only made things worse, of course, by decreasing overall pay for most people and by causing higher unemployment. Many people, despite their lower or non-existent incomes, continue spending at the pre-recession levels and find themselves buried under a mountain of debt.
Dave Burke abhors debt and its horrible effect on individuals and families. He knows how horrible debt can be and how it can destroy people financially. Burke is the voice and co-host of the Real Talk Network. This is an organization which offers credit and debt counseling advice. Dave Burke, along with his highly experienced staff, have a great deal of knowledge on the issues facing those who find themselves in debt. They do their best to help anyone who is consumed by debt.
